Wow I am quick ain't I? lol I couldn't stand waiting too long to host my very first giveaway. I have been so lucky to win several giveaways myself, that I want to spread the joy! This film is a fantastic one and if you have never seen it, I highly recommend it! It's a goodie! For those who do not know anything about this film here is a brief description for you by Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide. Also included is a movie trailer for you to see.
"Based on the Stephen King short story The Body, Rob Reiner's easygoing nostalgia piece is set in Castle Rock, OR, over Labor Day weekend, 1959. A quartet of boys, inseparable friends all, set out in search of a deadbody that one of the boys overhears his brother talking about. The foursome consists of intellectual Gordie (Wil Wheaton), born leader Chris (River Phoenix), emotionally disturbed Teddy (Corey Feldman), and chubby hanger-on Vern (Jerry O'Connell). The boys' adventures en route to the elusive body are colored by the personal pressures brought to bear on all of them by the adult world. Richard Dreyfuss, playing the grown-up Gordie, narrates the film, while Kiefer Sutherland dominates every scene he's in as a brutish high-school bully."

I saw this move several years ago. I remember them trying to find the little boy that was hit by a train and all the obstacles to get there. One of the boys in the film was in the Fast and the Furious:Tokoyo drift movie.
It's been many, many years since I have seen this film, but I remember it being very good. This would be great to add to our falimy library. Thank you for the chance to wib.

Yes I have seen this movie before and enjoyed it. Here's a funny fact that happens at the very end of the movie (and doesn't give away the plot). After finishing typing in the computer, the character simply turns off the computer - he didn't save what he had writtten!!!! I am sure that has happened to many people sometime, but I was surprised that they didn't catch it in the movie!! We always exclaim over that part!

I love this movie and have watched it many times because I had a crush on Kiefer Sutherland (who didn't?). It's also a movie that features the great acting talents of River Phoenix, a favorite actor of mine who tragically died of a drug overdose.

I watched this movie several times growing up and I've even read the Stephen King novel! I like this movie, but it always makes me a little melancholy to watch the boys grow up so much in that one hot summer. The part about the leeches HORRIFIED me when I was younger and I still think of it when I go near water!
